Add Your Track For Instagram Reels Now!

Social media can be a revolutionary place for your music, especially if you upload your music to TikTok or Instagram because features like Reels can make your music go viral. There have been many instances where artists have shot to fame during the pandemic in the last two years because they uploaded their music on Instagram and many users used that music for their reels! Speaking of TikTok, don’t miss our article on How To Market Your Music On Tiktok.

Reels allow artists to make their songs viral (yes, sensational) on Instagram at a time when visual content is essential. While doing so, they increase their exposure and turn online fans into actual listeners and supporters. Reels are similar to shorts on YouTube in case you have no reference in mind. Check out our article on Using YouTube Shorts to Promote Your Music.

Reels are the best because the format is practically fantastic and yields great results. We’ll tell you why. Firstly, reels are video clips of less than a minute. They can use any music in the background if a user wishes to do a voiceover. It is always in a portrait format, that is. 9:16 ratio, specially designed to watch on our mobile phones. Obviously, not every reel you will make or not every reel that will use your music is for everyone. But that’s precisely why reels work. Reels target virtual communities that will consume your content or any user-generated content using your music with its algorithm. But remember that once it clicks, it clicks, and there is no turning back from there.

Instagram will originally only display your Reel to a small number of individuals which is usually your followers. But as users begin to respond and react to the reel, Instagram will display it to other potential users who will be interested in getting more from you, and the audience will continue to increase gradually. So not only uploading your own music on Instagram is important, but making reels about your music or your tracks is vital too. It helps market your music better. Adding your music for users on Instagram

For users on Instagram to use your music on their reels, your tracks should be available in Instagram’s Music Library. Instagram users may upload their own authentic sound, which occasionally results in reels using incorrectly attributed or completely unattributed music. You could contend a reel that includes one of your tracks and necessitate that it be credited. You could upload your original tracks to Instagram but make sure that the audio is savable for users.

Users can save their favorite audio to their profiles so they won't have to constantly look for the music they prefer to use in Reels. To encourage other people to make it, they could also consider sharing the page that provides a list of every video for a specific song via personal message. You could save and share audio by tapping the audio at the bottom of the reel. That will lead you to a page where all the reels use the same audio.

To bookmark or unsave a page, tap the save button. To send it to another user, click the DM icon. People can discover your new music through their audio browser if your tracks have been added to the library. When a user shall start a reel, they will find your track by tapping on the Audio section which will lead the user to a browser that will show three categories to choose audio from Saved audio, Trending, and For You.

Attribution Claim

You could claim attribution by tapping on the option ‘claim attribution of reel original audio.’ That will redirect you to a page where you could enter your contact information. Enter details such as artist name, track name, and the track second from where the audio started matching your track, even if it is from the beginning. Choose the original audio you would like to claim and give a link to the reel from the original audio page you want to be acknowledged.

As quickly as possible, Instagram will verify that there is a match and reply to your application. Only if the Original Audio exactly matches the approved recording in the Audio Library will Instagram be able to perform this Attribution switch for you. Tunes with voiceovers, remixes, and covers cannot currently be replaced.
