FREE Music Submission Platforms For Playlisting!

In the big ecosystem of playlisting, finding the right spot for your track can be tedious and may even seem impossible. For upcoming musicians who are yet to step into the world of music marketing, it will be rather intimidating and more difficult to get their tracks playlisted. For those of you who cannot afford to spend a lot on getting your track playlisted today, we present the top 3 free music submission platforms, where you could pitch your track for FREE to different Spotify playlist curators

SubmitHub

SubmitHub  is probably the most transparent submission platform out there, operating in the ecosystem of playlisting for quite some time!

There are more than 2000 playlist curators on SubmitHub who operate actively on a daily basis. It has a pretty simple model that has two options for every music artist pitching their tracks to curators:

  1. Premium submissions:

Here, you basically pay anywhere around $1 to $3, depending on the type of premium credits you purchase to submit a track to different playlisters on SubmitHub. For example, total credits of 5, will cost you $6. There are discounts on bulk orders as well. You can choose what kind of feedback you would like from the curators as well, in case they decline your pitch.
  2. Standard submissions:

This is where upcoming artists like yourself can get a chance to pitch for free and grow your music. Once you sign up as an artist at SubmitHub, you will receive two standard credits every 4 hours. You could use these credits to pitch a track to those curators who have ALLOWED standard submissions. According to SubmitHub, around 20-25% of curators have enabled the option to receive standard/free submissions from artists so it is fair to say that you will get a good chance.
  3. You can also earn free PREMIUM credits by leaving feedback or rating on songs that appear on the ‘Hot Or Not’ page of SubmitHub. For every 20 feedbacks (20 songs) you write, you will get 1 free premium credit without having to pay a dollar, and you could use that credit to submit your songs to playlisters.

Pssst…come here: With standard submissions, we advise you to rely mostly on the genre match of more than 8/10. The chances of your track getting playlisted by a curator for a playlist that doesn’t match the vibe your song carries is already very low, so make sure that your track, even if it is a free submission, goes to the right curator. There are chances that you’d like one or two playlists of a particular curator and you’d want a spot for yourself, but with standard submissions, don’t send in more than 1 track to the same curator. Try it out with all the curators whose playlist’s genre matches with that of your tracks.

DailyPlaylists

DailyPlaylists is another music submission platform that made its name in the world of music promotion for independent artists.

Very similar to SubmitHub in its business model, there are two ways for artists to navigate through DailyPlaylists.

  1. Free Submissions:

As the same suggests, you can pitch in your track for free, to ‘Standard’ curators. Once you sign up on DailyPlaylists, you will get standard credits on a weekly basis that can be used to pitch tracks to standard playlists only. There is an option to purchase credits in bulk here as well - $3.99, $7.99 as well as $15.99. Please note that you cannot get a guaranteed response or feedback from a curator if you are pitching your tracks using standard credits. The standard curator has 21 days time to listen to your track and review it. The credits aren’t transferred back to you if your track doesn’t get playlisted, once you pitch in, there is no going back.
  2. Artist Pro:

This level of subscription is bought at either a cost of $14.99 for every month or $149.99 for every year. You will definitely have access to a lot more curators, not just standard playlisters and DailyPlaylist will help you navigate and channel your efforts a lot better here. Here you can purchase premium credits, but only in bulk, costing anywhere from $14.99 to $19.99, to pitch to premium curators on the submission platform. The catch here is that if a premium curator declines your pitch, they HAVE to write feedback about your song within 1 week of your submission, otherwise, the premium credit will be transferred back to you.

Pssst..come here: The Artist Pro tier enables music artists to not only pitch to different curators but use an automated DailyPlaylist submission system - it will pitch your music to different premium curators on its own. You can debate whether that is really an advantage or not.

  3.  Similar to SubmitHub, you could earn credits by reviewing other songs by different artists in the DailyPlaylist Community in the community section.

artist.tools

This is massively helpful for any music artist out there to get real-time data analytics and information on how a playlist is doing on Spotify, the curator's contact information, and other details you would need to pitch in your track for free.

While it is not a submission platform, it is simply a website that helps you get access to contact details of different playlisters that you could pitch your music to, through Email, Social Media, and so on.

You have to sign up on the website to get access to the contact details. A small subscription fee is all that it takes for you to get access to many playlisters contacts, be it Email IDs or social media handles.

If you’d like to sign up to artist.tools, you can use our link here.

(Please note that the above is a referral link and if you ever plan on buying a paid plan, you get 10% off forever :))

Sending a well-crafted pitch through email or a short sweet dm through Instagram won’t cost you anything! So yes, the actual process of pitching your track here is free. You could also type in the name of the playlist curator profiles and give it a general search on Google or any social media platform. More often than not, these curators would have added their emails in the contact section of the playlist they have made on Spotify, so it should be fairly free and super easy to find them and pitch to them!

Also, we at GreaseRelease, have a bunch of curators on our network who are looking for new & exciting music to push on their massive playlists. If you make music and want to reach a wider audience, check out our submission platform and get a chance to reach millions of listeners! Submit your tracks now!
